To experience this narrative-driven installation, just pick up the receiver. On the phone, ordinary people tell you a story they have experienced.

There are five stories to listen to. “Confabulation” is a series of monthly events featuring true stories, told by the witnesses of the narrative.

We had to modify several telephones (including an old public Bell “tank” telephone) in order to make them interactive. This was possible by hacking the numeric keypad as well as the stall switch, and integrating an Arduino capable of replaying audio stories in mp3 files.
